GE C30-7A #6565. Westbound at nite at New Market Crossing, Piscataway, NJ. July 28, 1982. This night picture of a moving Conrail freight at track speed ( approx 45 MPH) was shot using a Nikon FM-2 manual film camera. The film speed is 200 ASA and is the newer Kodak Ektachrome. The speed setting is the FLASH SYNC speed of 1/250 th sec, the aperture is f2.8. I use a Vivitar 5200 flash and it is set on the "manual" discharge setting. This setting offers the most flash discharge. The flash does the work at night and will stop a moving train. I have used this technique for a few decades.
