On the ex-Reading portion of Conrail, traffic between Allentown and Philadelphia had two routings at Reading, PA; through the city or around it via the Reading Belt Line. While a large majority of the D&H trains used the Belt, the actual trackage rights agreement explicitly only included using the route through Reading in part to give it the slowest routing possible and dispatchers still frequently did their part to oblige. On Labor Day weekend 1990, D&H symbolled RPPY (Rouses Point, NY - Potomac Yard) snakes its way on the slow route through Reading. Behind the NYS&W B40-8 are four ex-Reading GP39-2's taking one last Ride on the Reading. With the sale of the D&H to CP Rail, the new less than a year-old lease between the D&H and CSXT for the 20 GP39-2's was cancelled, and the units are being turned over to CSX.
