Conrail inherited a small fleet of 40 former EL mechanical reefers. Many spent a significant amount of time in storage as this one did for years in the Reading, PA area. I first photographed a group of five of them in storage in 1980 and again in 1985 prior to leaving Reading for parts unknown. Looking rather attractive in orange & brown, CR 359021 is in Reading yard in 1985.
