On the first day of the 44-day Septa TWU strike in 1977, numerous CR equipment was mixed in with Amtrak units at 30th Street Station.
OCS 3 rested on the tracks behind Amtrak GG-1 4939 (ex-PC 4939, nee-PRR 4927).
The former PRR GG-1 4927 was not scrapped after retirement by Amtrak in 1980. The unit was repainted in 1999 and preserved at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL.
