Even CR's NJDOT GG-1's were brought over from South Amboy to help during the Septa strike on April 7, 1977.

With a mixed freight pulled by boxcab electrics on the highline above, and ex-PC SW9 9140 on the engine service tracks behind, GG-1 4872 pulls commuters into 30th Streeet Station in Philadelphia, PA.

Though unpleasant for commuters, the Septa TWU strike from March 25 to May 8, 1977 brought railfans a mix of CR power not normally in use for passenger service at Amtrak's 30th Street station.

The crews' AMC Javelin and Ford Pinto add a nice touch to the first year of Conrail's operations.
