The sun was down low when two rare birds were at the Conway engine terminal in August, 1977.

CR 2474, the only ex-PRR class AF24a ALCo C424, leads one of only two ex-RDG C430's, CR 2049 (ex-RG 5212).

The C424 unit was built in 1963 using the electrical equipment from ALCO's DL-640 demonstrator 640-1.
