CSX 8550 leads westbound general merchandise train Q371 past the former NYC "Big 4" sandstone station and past our RAILTHON tent. Above is the new Front Street bridge which is nearing completion; bringing an end to the 2 sets of railroad crossings which once drove Berea commuters insane given the heavy rail traffic. Afternoon temperatures approached 90F, not to difficult believe given the mirage like effect seen in the air in this telephoto composition. Most NS trains through Berea are widecabs, but CSX still runs lots of standard cab EMD power, a refreshing sight anyday! Time: 3:12pm
