In September 1981, Conrail MP15 9625 leads the 8154 and 3303 with a train on its way back to Reading, PA from Coatesville, PA. The Coatesville turn operated out of Reading using the former Reading's Wilmington & Northern branch. At this point the primary customer was Lukens Steel. A fair amount of cars also went Luria Brothers scrap yard both hauling scrap or to be scrapped themselves. With Conrail, traffic to Wilmington was rerouted and this train would soon be abolished in favor of using a connection to the former PRR just east of this location. The W&N would be abandoned starting just west of here to Birdsboro, PA.
