Class BR62A

The BR62A class was originally built as RDG 19000-19049 by Berwick in 1973 and classed as XLL . Only 22 cars were renumbered into the original series of CR 279771-279860. The other 28 cars were renumbered into the CR 279379-279757 series. RDG 19005 lasted well into the CR era before being renumbered CR 279420 in Feb. of 1997.

CR 279516 is seen at Cumberland, MD on 8/14/98. Car is ex RDG 19010, built 11-72 and was painted at HCS 9/12/96.

CR 279615 - Class BR62A

Conrail 279615 is seen at Duncannon, PA. Car is ex RDG 19015 and would later be retsenciled to NYC 279615 after CR was split in 1999.

CR 279654 - Class BR62A

Conrail 279654 is seen at Enola, PA. Car is ex RDG 19026.

CR 279667 - Class BR62A

Conrail 279667 is seen at Duncannon, PA.Car is ex RDG 19032.

CR 279734- Class BR62A

CR 279734 is seen on Horseshoe Curve. Car is ex CR 279734/RDG 19042 and was built 11-72; weighed CRBS 8-84.

Car is ex RDG 19021 and was built 12-72.

Conrail 279842 is seen at Enola, PA. Car is ex RDG 19038.

RDG 19024 Reading class XLI boxcar 03-78

Sporting the last Reading Lines paint scheme applied to boxcars, RDG 19024 passes through Akron, Ohio in May of 1978. Car would become part of class BR62A upon repainting
