Conrail inherited 6 ALCo RSD-15's built for the PRR, with the PC number series 6811-6816, but placed only 6812-6816 on the April, 1976 roster.  Their ALCo 251B V16 prime movers produced 2,400hp.

CR 6812 Camden, NJ 11-23-76

A nice variety of former Penn Central units are at Camden, N.J. this November 1976 day.

Alco RSD-15's 6812 and 6816 are switching, the first number and last number of the 5 total on the roster. Also seen are an SW-7, SW-1, and a pair of E44's. The two RSD's would become MT-6's 1125 (6812) and 1126 (6816) and go through multiple re-numberings under NS, 1125 to NS 1114, then 985, then eventually to RPU6 851. CR 1126 became NS 1115, 985, then RPU6 857.

CR 6849 Syracuse, NY 2/12/1978

My research shows that this was an unusual combo. The RSD-15 was reengined with an EMD, and the slug was from an RSD-5. This set of 2 was given number 6849.

Late in the day, and late in their lives, sister RSD-12's 6866 and 6869 work the yard at Morrisville in March, 1977.

The Alco RSD-12's at Morrisville will last for only a few more weeks.  RS11's were working the yard the end of April.  The classic sound of Alco 251B prime movers would be gone by the end of 1977, when GP30's took over the yard work.
