Class 860H

Former NYC covered hoppers converted to ballast cars.

Class BH1C

The BH1C class of ballast cars were built new for Conrail by Greenville in 1984-1985. Cars were originally built with 1750cuft. capacity, but some cars had an extension added, increasing capacity to 2122 cuft.

Class BH1D

Conrail's BH1D class was constructed at Hollidaysburg from late 1986 to early 1987. The cars were assembled from kits supplied by Bethlehem Steel.

Class CC71B

Former CNJ covered hoppers converted to ballast cars.

Class CE70D

Former EL ballast cars.

Class CR70B

Former RDG covered hoppers rebuilt to ballast cars.

Class H33

Former PRR covered hoppers converted to ballast cars.

Class H34

Former PRR covered hoppers converted to ballast cars.

Class H34A

Former PRR covered hoppers converted to ballast cars.

Class H34B

Former PRR covered hoppers converted to ballast cars.

Class H34C

Former PRR covered hoppers converted to ballast cars.

Class H34D

Former PRR covered hoppers converted to ballast cars.

Class SD42A

The SD42A class was built by Difco in two batches as CR 53290-53349 & 53501-53535 between March-May of 1978.

Class U7

Former PRR side dump cars.

CR 50848

Car is ex LV 50870 and was built 5-56, rebuilt to ballast car 6-77.

Car is ex PC 877971/PRR 258320 and was built 10-58, rebuilt to ballast car 6-77. Car was weighed on 7-9-85, and was deleted on 5-28-08.

Car is ex PC 878131/PRR 258484 and was built 12-58, rebuilt 6-77; to CSX, deleted on 11-5-04.

CR 51522

CR 51522 is ex PC 51522 and is seen here in early 2002 coupled to an ex-CR ballast car, which is restenciled MOWX 5301.

CR 51788

Car is ex NH 117053 and was built 12-54 as a covered hopper, rebuilt into ballast car 10-78.

CR 51999

Car is ex CNJ 930 and was built 7-57, rebuilt to ballast car 11-78.

CR 52029

Car is ex NH 117021 and was built 12-54, rebuilt to ballast car 11-78. It was deleted on 10-29-01.

Car is ex PRR 257896 and was built 4-58. It was deleted on 8-20-03.

CR 52866 - Class H34E

Car is ex PRR 258380 and was built 11-58, rebuilt 6-76.

CR 53260

Car is ex DLW 97030 and was built 2-65, was to go to CSX.

Car is ex DLW 97030 and is seen here in 2002. Car was built Feb 1956.

Car is ex CNJ 790 and was built 4-56, rebuilt to ballast car 1-79.

NYSW 53749 (ex-CR 53749), an old ACF two bay covered hopper converted to a ballast car is now owned and on the NYSW at Ridgefield Park, NJ 7/2006

Car was painted by NJ Transit and is used in their ballast trains. Car class is incorrectly marked as H34Y.
