A trio of C30-7A's and one Camel bring MBSE-8 across the bridge spanning the New England Thruway Extension in East Chatham, NY. on June 10, 1988. This bridge was one of the few short single track stretches that existed on the Boston Line before CR single tracked the route during the time frame this photo was made. Spring switches at either end of the bridge lined trains to the proper track to keep traffic flowing correctly. Today, CP 171 is at this end of the bridge with a controlled passing siding extending to CP 176 in Chatham.
