C30-7A 6567 leads a three unit set of light engines westward near MP 129. The engines are exiting Middlefield and will enter Becket when they cross the Westfield River (foreground). Note the stone arch bridge at right which aptly shows the origional right-of-way bypassed by the present one in 1912. Signal 129.02 displays the most permissive aspect of the downgrade signals on Washington hill..G/G. This allowed for more varied aspects to be shown to downgrade trains, affording them a look further out ahead. The upgrade signals, with yellow "G", showed G/R as their most permissive aspect.
