Surviving Conrail OCS Equipment

Most of Conrail's OCS fleet went to NS and CSX, and the two railroads now use them as part of their own OCS trains.

CRHS Vice President Brock Kerchner's CR OCS inspired Saxophone with the inspiration, the original OCS engine CR 4022, xEL 833, xxErie 833 still with steam generators. Taken in 2006 at JTRR.

CR 50

CR 50 is seen at Altoona PA on 6/19/02. Car is ex CR 65050/EL 63012 and was built 4-54. The car was later repainted NS and renumbered to NS 40.

NS 36 (Research Car)

CR Research Car 21 (NS 36) is entering onto the NEC at DAVIS interlocking in Newark, DE following a trip on the Delmarva Branch. Date is 6/13/2007.

NS 37 (Research Support Car)

CR 24 (NS 37) is the usual partner with CR 21 (NS 36) in post-breakup times now, acting as a power and support car partner. This car along with CR 21 (NS 36) have just entered onto the NEC at DAVIS Interlocking in Newark, DE after a tip on the Delmarva branch. Date is 6/13/2007.

NS 40 is seen on M1R at Harrisburg PA on 3/27/10. Car is ex CR 50/CR 65050/EL 63012 and was built 4-54.
