Here you can see the Conrail MOW equipment that still survives under new ownership as they work on for NS and CSX.

Wheel Cars

Photos of the 40' and 50' flatcars Conrail utilized to move wheelsets around the system. Some of these cars outlasted CR still wearing their PC green paint.

HRS 492612

HRS 492612 is seen at Claysburg, PA on 6/7/97. Car is ex PRR 492612 and was built as PRR 8917 in 4-26 and carried the name "Richard Dale" and was converted to MOW service by the PRR in Nov of 1965. Eventhough the car is seen restenciled to HRS 492970, the PRR 492970 number would not be deleted until 9/22/01.

HRS 492970 is seen at Claysburg PA on 6/28/13. Car is ex PRR 492970 and was built as PRR 8733 in 7-26 and carried the name "Beaver" and was converted to MOW service by the PRR in Nov of 1965.

PRR 493087

PRR 493087 is seen at Claysburg, PA on 6/7/97. Car was built as PRR 7943 in 12-24 and was converted to MOW service by the PRR in Oct of 1965. Eventhough the car is seen here on the Everett Railroad, the PRR 493087 number was not deleted until 9/22/01.

PRR 493256

PRR 493256 is seen at Altoona, PA on 6/7/97. Car was built as PRR 8663 in 6-24 and carried the name "Lake Girard" and was converted to MOW service by the PRR in Feb of 1967. By June 2007, it became HRS 729 (Hollidaysburg & Roaring Spring) excursion car on the Everett Railroad.

RDG 90946

RDG 90946 is seen at Altoona PA on 6/19/02. Car is ex CONX 5253 and was built 7-23.
