CR's Abrams yard was a former Reading Company yard located near King of Prussia, PA.

Cabooses were often coupled to the yard engines in early 1977.  Just behind the GP7 rests former RDG N4 cabin 92914 with a fresh CR stencil as 18730.

Late in the day in November, 1976, RDG GP-7 625 rests from yard work with GP30 3618 (CR 2186) at the Abrams engine terminal.

The GP-7 would receive it's 5817 CR number in mid-February, 1977.

Watching the yard work at trackside and parking near the Abrams signal bridge were safe and typical happenings in the early days of Conrail. 

The sights, sounds and smells of typical RDG yard work may have stirred the heart of the smallest railfan at Abrams that day to someday become a railroader or even a member of CRHS!
